War In Ukraine 2022 Update: 

Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, visited the eastern front on May 29, 2022 as explosions of Russian shelling were heard in the distance. The key city of Severodonetsk in the territory of Luhansk is not cut off by Russian forces, said a Ukrainian official, but Russia is trying to tighten its grip on eastern Ukraine. German officials said that the leaders of Germany, Olaf Scholz, and France, Emmanuel Macron, both urged the Russian president, Vladimir Putin to come to a ceasefire in Ukraine to pull out his troops in a phone call Saturday, May 28, 2022. 

President Zelenskyy vowed that Ukraine will take back everything from Russia in his nightly address on Saturday, May 28, 2022. US president Joe Biden says he won’t send rocket launchers to Ukraine that can reach Russia, a CNN report said as the US is preparing to send advanced rocket launchers for Ukraine. Russia warns that the US is crossing a “red line” doing so. 

The leaders of the EU agreed on Monday, May 30, 2022, to ban most of the Russian oil imports as a part of new sanctions against Moscow. The leader of the Luhansk regional military administration said troops have taken control of part of the key city but denied reports that the Russians have captured the entire city of Severodonetsk in the Donbas region, May 31, 2022. On June 1, 2022 CNN reported on a village north of Kyiv, the village, left to be rebuilt more than a month after the Russians destroyed it has people like Serhiy Yudenko, saying “I’ll never forgive the Russians for what they did.” The UK will give Ukraine missile launchers that can hit targets 50 miles away to help stop the Russians (Regan et al.)
