War in Ukraine 2022 Update:

The sinking of the Russian guided-missile cruiser, Moskav, has given setbacks to the Russian advances in the sea and on land. Russians shell the city of Kharkiv and have struck across the regions of Donetsk, Luhansk according to one Ukrainian official. During a recent phone call, Zelenskyy asked Biden to call Russia a “state sponsor of terrorism” (McCarthy et. al).

Furthermore, Zelenskyy told CNN to be prepared for Putin to use nuclear weapons. The US does not believe that the Russian guided-missile cruiser had nuclear weapons when it sank. The first flight of US military assistance to Ukraine is expected to arrive Saturday, April 16, 2022.

Carrying on with this, Russia said that there will be unpredictable consequences if the US continues to aid Ukraine. Putin’s ex-economic adviser explains why he believes that a full oil embargo will stop the war “within a month” (McCarthy et. al). The Battle for the Donbas region started on April 18, 2022. “Russian forces have started the battle for Donbas for which they’ve been preparing for a long time and a considerable amount of the Russian forces are concentrated and focused on that offensive,” said Zelenskyy, in a video address on Monday, April 18, 2022.
