Chagrin Falls Middle School excitedly welcomed a new RtI teacher, Mrs. Samantha Genshock in August 2023.
Genshock grew up in Auburn, Ohio, which is about 10 minutes away. She graduated from Kenston High School. She now lives in the same area where she grew up. She is the oldest of six, and has two kids and she moved here from her teaching job from North Carolina.
She has taught twelve years including teaching 5th grade at Streetsboro for six years. She also taught two years at Kenston. She has wanted to be a teacher since she did an assignment about it in 3rd grade.
Genshock got an undergraduate degree from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, in middle childhood education for 4th through 9th grade. She can teach English and Social Studies. Then, her husband pushed her to get her masters degree in curriculum, instruction and assessment.
She went to Ohio University because it felt homely to her, and not too big.
In her free time, she enjoys watching Cleveland sports, and relaxing at home with her family.
Some people who have helped her along the way are her parents, siblings, her husband and family.
Mr. Brian Johnson, the math RTI instructor, shares a classroom with Genshock. “She works hard and we get along well, and it’s the first time I’ve really had to share a room with somebody.” He added: “She’s a great roommate.”
Seventh grade student Charlotte Mullapudi has had a chance to get to know Mrs. Genshock this year, and she said, “she’s an awesome person.” Mullapudi added: “she’s creative, and is really funny, and has something nice to say.”
CFMS is very lucky to have Mrs. Genshock on our staff.
