Stall the Teacher Day

On Tuesday, November 26th, Chagrin Falls Middle School Hosted its “Stall the Teacher Day” and raised over $1,400 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s mission is to fight against blood cancer and find a cure for Leukemia, Lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and Myeloma.

Students were encouraged to bring in big bags of loose change to whichever teacher they wanted to stall, whether it be quarters, dimes, or even pennies. The teachers collected all donations and counted all of the money raised by the students at the start of the class period. The teachers could not start class until they finished counting. Mr. David Arundel’s class raised the most money for the event, and they won an Olive Garden party.

During the day, some teachers collected more money than others, with the most money going to the math teachers, Mr. Brown and Mr. Thombs. Many kids had different opinions on the idea, James Meikel thought, “It’s a good idea but I think people bring in money just to stall the teacher. I don’t think they don’t actually understand what it’s really about.”
Overall, the day was fun, and it was fun to see how long the teacher had to count for!
